Our purpose is to create socially responsible leaders that have an impact on society and the world through education, technology, and social participation, as an individual or by forming a social network; the purpose is to help reduce extreme poverty and foster development with equity and the promotion of cultural values through a humanistic vision.
It is our belief that eradicating poverty must be a global effort. Poverty in Mexico is not just a problem for that country; it has become an issue to be confronted worldwide. When people do not have access to jobs and resources that would enable them to take care of themselves and their children, they seek out places where those resources exist. By helping Mexicans improve their lives and their opportunities at home-through education, job training and improved living conditions – we can empower them to break the poverty cycle.

To strengthen the civil society within Mexico by establishing and supporting health and education programs that will directly benefit vulnerable portions of Mexican society.

To conduct programs in the United States to strengthen civil society within Mexico and enhance Mexican programs devoted to health and education.

To offer grants for general charitable purpose to Vamos Mexico Foundation and to Centro Fox*, the first and only presidential library outside the U.S.
Marta Sahagún Jiménez was born in Zamora, Michoacán on April 10, 1953. Since she was a child, she had the concern of serving others, this thanks to the direct influence of her father, Alberto Sahagún de la Parra, who was a doctor.
“My father was the town doctor. He was the one who inspired me with a sense of empathy. Outside of her office he had a small sign that said: “The doctor’s office costs ¢25, but if he doesn’t have them, we take care of him anyway.” Everyone was welcome. (…) He took care of every person who crossed her door. It was his social responsibility that inspired me to solve the most basic and yet the greatest human problems, such as poverty, hunger, injustice and inequality.”
During the 1970s, she did social work through the Rotary Club, until 1988 when she joined the National Action Party.
After having served as first lady in the six-year term of her husband, Vicente Fox Quesada (Former President of México 2000-2006), Mrs. Marta dedicated all of her efforts to her Vamos México Foundation. Since then, her work has been fruitful and prolific, becoming a great reference at a national and international level.
Through this Foundation and its various associations and donors, the humanitarian work of its objectives has considerably transformed several low-income sectors in Guanajuato. Fundación Vamos México is a non-profit social organization that began activities on September 24, 2001, with the spirit of promoting participation and social commitment.
The institution continuously supports various causes at the local and national level, between health and well-being, nutrition and education, addictions and citizen care, community development and volunteering, disability and psychological care, as well as strengthening civil society organizations.
Vicente Fox Quesada, native of Mexico City, was born on July 2, 1942. He is the second of nine children born to José Luis Fox, farmer job, and Mercedes Quesada.
As a child he moved, with his family to Rancho San Cristobal, in the state of Guanajuato, where he had the opportunity to interact with the children of holders of a share in the communal land, sharing with them his childhood and according to his own words, “learn about one of the harms that can be avoided in our country: poverty.
Vicente Fox is a friendly, respectful, simple and honest person, who, due to his life on the ranch, has learned to value the loyalty of the people and appreciate the great potential of Mexico to be a great winner.
‘’I know the value of having opportunities. I Grew up in a communal land with the children of the farmers and the only differences between me and my childhood friends are the opportunities I did have,” he has said at various stages of his life.
He studied Business Administration at the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Diploma in Senior Management taught by professors from the Harvard University School of Business.
He was Governor of the State of Guanajuato from 1994 to 1999 and President of Mexico in the period 2000-2006, being the first president of the Republic to emanate from the opposition.
Vicente Fox is still riding like Don Quixote to reach new goals. And he is convinced that whoever stops, he/she stops growing and begins to die, who does not stay in motion, is reached by the opponents, that whoever stops ceases to be honest in the way to success.
Today he directs Centro Fox, an organization that promotes the leadership development of children, youth and adults and whose programs are especially aimed at the most disadvantaged.
